On the joyous occasion of Basava Jayanthi, we would like to share the good news of our Guruji Prof. Laxmankumar Sannellappanavar being conferred the Basava Vibhushana national award by the Basava Janmabhoomi Pratishthana Basavanabagewadi (the birthplace of the great saint Basavanna). Guruji accepted the award in person at the 11th annual celebration and award ceremony held at Vijayapur (Bijapur) in Karnataka state, India on April 24th 2022. He was happy to take Darshana of His Holiness Swami Siddeshwara Swamiji of Jnanayogashrama and spend more time with him at the Ashrama. His association with Swamiji goes back many decades. Guruji was also happy to visit various Yoga departments and institutes at Bijapur during his stay. He was welcomed and felicitated by many well-wishers from the area.
Guruji Prof. Laxmankumar Sannellappanavar has served the communities around the World for the past 7 decades (started late 1940s!) and is continuing to teach and spread the message of Yoga through his several endeavors even now at the age of 86 years. We at ‘Utsahi’ are blessed to have his inspiring presence and continued guidance on a daily basis, to benefit from Yoga practice in our own lives and to provide these benefits to everyone around us.
